Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of more than 11,000 children across Lorain County, supporting early literacy, emotional development, and kindergarten readiness from the very start.
From birth until age five, enrolled children receive a free, age-appropriate book delivered directly to their home every month, helping families build consistent reading routines and creating meaningful moments between children and their parents or caregivers. These shared experiences strengthen early language skills while fostering connection, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Each book is thoughtfully selected and mailed by the Dollywood Foundation, ensuring high-quality, developmentally appropriate stories reach every child. Locally, the program is made possible through a collaborative partnership between the Lorain County Imagination Library Coalition, the Ohio General Assembly, and generous local donors and foundations who believe every child deserves the opportunity to start school ready to succeed.
