PARTNERSHIPS, PROGRESS, AND POSSIBILITY
Each year, our Celebration of Community Impact offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and recognize what is possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose.
This year's event brought together supporters, volunteers, donors, community partners, and local leaders to celebrate the progress we've made across Greater Lorain County and to look ahead at the opportunities still before us.
Master of Ceremonies Tim Alcorn guided the morning with energy and enthusiasm before United Way of Greater Lorain County President & CEO Ryan Aroney took the stage to share our Year in Review. Through stories, data, real examples from across the county, and a little humor, Ryan highlighted the collective impact made possible by the thousands of individuals, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations who choose to invest in a stronger Greater Lorain County.
From expanding access to youth opportunities and strengthening financial security to improving community health and responding to our neighbors' most urgent needs, every milestone shared during the presentation reflected a simple truth: meaningful change happens when we work together.
One of the morning's highlights was a panel discussion featuring several of United Way's partners:
- Michelle Allison, Owner & Operator of The Wine Room and Tavern in Avon
- Margarita Padua, Executive Director of Leadership Lorain County
- Rachael Salter, AVP of Underwriting at First Federal Savings of Lorain
- Ameerah Washington, Owner of Adjusted Crown and Transitional Housing Landlord
- Brandon Wysocki, Director of Community Outreach and Youth Development at American Legion Post #30
Their conversation explored the power of collaboration, the importance of thinking beyond traditional solutions, and the willingness to innovate as the needs of our community continue to evolve. Whether discussing creative partnerships, new approaches to serving families, or the value of bringing different perspectives to the table, each panelist reinforced the idea that no single organization can solve our community's biggest challenges alone. Lasting impact happens when people are willing to build relationships, share ideas, and work toward common goals.
As we closed another year of impact, one message stood above the rest: the work we celebrate isn't United Way's alone. It belongs to every volunteer who gave their time, every donor who invested in our mission, every partner who stepped forward with a new idea, and every community member who believes Greater Lorain County is strongest when we work together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this incredible year. We're proud of what we've accomplished together, and we're even more excited about what's possible in the year ahead.
