LAUGHING TO SUPPORT NEIGHBORS IN NEED

What a night! United Way of Greater Lorain County’s Comedy After Dark: Stand-Up for Our Community delivered nonstop laughs, incredible energy, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together for good.

Comedians Ramon Rivas, TJ Macklin, and Stephanie Ginese absolutely crushed it, keeping the crowd in near tears all night long. From the first punchline to the final encore, the room was filled with joy, connection, and the kind of shared laughter that made a winter night in Lorain County feel a whole lot warmer.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support UCAN through this event, and especially to American Legion Post #30 for sponsoring the evening and matching our impact up to $2,000. Their generosity helped turn a fun night out into meaningful support for local families. A huge thank-you also goes to Barbalicious Kitchen for providing absolutely delicious appetizers, and to the hardworking American Legion bartenders who kept guests refreshed and smiling all evening long.

All proceeds from Comedy After Dark will benefit UCAN, the United Community Assistance Network, one of United Way’s key initiatives focused on helping individuals and families meet their most basic needs during times of hardship. Through partnerships with local nonprofits and volunteers, UCAN provides access to emergency financial assistance and critical resources that help families stay stable while they work toward long-term security.

This event was a perfect example of what “United is the Way” truly means: laughter, generosity, partnership, and real impact all in one room.

If you’d like to stay up to date on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and the impact your support makes throughout the year, we invite you to sign up for our Impact Report and be part of the story as it continues.

Thank you for laughing with us, giving with us, and standing with our community.
