MORE THAN TREATS: RISING TITANS IS COMBINING RESOURCES AND FAMILY FUN

It was a BOO-tiful Saturday morning as more than 500 children and family members joined Rising Titans, the kindergarten readiness collaborative powered by United Way of Greater Lorain County, for its seventh annual Trunk or Treat!

Children made their way from trunk to trunk collecting books, candy, swag and resources while families connected with organizations available to support them throughout the year. Many Rising Titans partners hosted trunks, sharing information about their programs alongside all the treats and fun.

Among the familiar faces were Rising Titans Preschool and Toddler Play Group facilitators from Lorain County Early Intervention and the Lorain Historical Society. Seeing children and caregivers they already know was a highlight of the day, strengthening relationships beyond regular programming and celebrating together as a community.

Each year, Trunk or Treat offers families a welcoming place to spend time together, meet neighbors and get to know the local partners who participate in Rising Titans. A conversation at a trunk can become an introduction to a program, an opportunity to ask questions or a chance to put a face to an organization’s name. Together, these moments help families become more familiar with the resources and people available to support their children’s growth.

The combination of fun, resources and relationships makes this annual tradition special. Families can enjoy a morning together while connecting with community partners who share a commitment to helping their children thrive.

Thank you to every partner, facilitator and family (some pictured below) who helped make the seventh annual Rising Titans Trunk or Treat a success. Your participation keeps this tradition going and helps build a community where children and families feel connected and supported!
