HOW A PALLET OF PRODUCTS BECAME CARE KITS FOR GREATER LORAIN COUNTY

Every year, Avient Corporation hosts a golf outing benefiting United Way of Greater Lorain County and invites its suppliers to participate. This year, one of those suppliers, Church & Dwight Co. and Armand Products Company, which most of us know through the Arm & Hammer name, decided to help in a different way. 

They donated an entire pallet of personal care and household products to our Collect. Sort. Deliver. initiative.

Today, Avient volunteers joined us at the Stephen J. Ross Volunteer Engagement Hub to turn those donated products into kits that are ready to get out into the community.

Volunteers packed Self Care Kits for middle school girls in Lorain with items like body spray, dry shampoo, and full size deodorant. They also assembled Household Essentials Kits containing laundry detergent, dish soap, Clorox wipes, mouthwash, and toothpaste.

The Collect. Sort. Deliver. impact initiative, powered by United Way of Greater Lorain County, works to collect essential high-need items like diapers, tampons, pads, hygiene kits, school supplies and books. While the products donated aren't what we traditionally collect - that's the power of Collect. Sort. Deliver. in action to take available resources, mobilize volunteers to action, and get items to the families who need them most. 

In this case, a suppliers creative contribution to Avient's annual golf outing became a full pallet of products, a volunteer project, and hundreds of items ready to support our neighbors.
