Week of Caring Volunteers Provide 200+ Hours of Service

Our 25th annual Week of Caring brought together over 80 community and business members - including groups from Bendix, Cleveland Clinic, Macys Systems and Technology, PolyOne Corporation, and University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center - for a September week full of volunteer opportunities in support of our collaborative work.

These volunteers provided more than 200 hours of service which included: 100 square feet of land beautified and landscaped at George Jones Farm at the New Agrarian Center | Over 25 meals delivered to Lorain County seniors | A meal prepared for 16 Lorain Firefighters in connection with the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance | Three dorm rooms patched and re-painted benefitting residents at Neighborhood Alliance's Haven Center | Three storage shelves constructed and painted for Oberlin Early Childhood Center | Two classroom spaces painted for Salvation Army in Lorain | Over 4,500 lbs of food sorted at Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio | A 100,670 square foot area cleaned up along Route 611
