United Way installed four Little Free Libraries this month and will be installing five more this fall and early next spring.
Little Free Libraries have been installed at Clearview's Durling Middle School, outside the OberlinKids office in downtown Oberlin, at Midview Middle School and at Elyria East Rec. Another will be installed next week at El Centro in Lorain.
The Litte Free Libraries were built over two days by 50 volunteers from PolyOne Corporation. United Way will act as the steward of the Little Free Libraries and will replenish the books as needed.
Little Free Library is a national free book exchange that encourages individuals and families to take a book and leave a book. Millions of books are exchanged each year through Little Free Libraries world-wide, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. Little Free Libraries play an essential role by providing access to books and encouraging a love of reading in areas where books are scarce.
