Advice from THRIVE! Dietitian Changes Health of Local Resident

Last summer, Lise Day stopped by the THRIVE! table at United Way of Greater Lorain County's annual Campaign Kickoff. THRIVE! was hosting a mock TV game show, patterned after “Wheel of Fortune,” where participants would spin a wheel and had to answer questions related to health, fitness or nutrition.

Lise answered two questions correctly and won the exciting prize of a dietary consultation, valued at $100, with THRIVE! Dietitian Libby Showalter.

THRIVE! and City Fresh Join Hands to Provide Access to Fresh Produce

THRIVE! Southern Lorain County is working with City Fresh to ensure area residents continue to have access to fresh fruit and vegetables while the Wellington Farmers' Market is closed this summer.

City Fresh, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program founded in Cleveland 13 years ago, has added Wellington as a "fresh stop" along its healthy produce route.

KEY Encourages Community to Walk, Bike & Roll

KEY sponsored Walk, Bike & Roll - a no-cost, easygoing, move-at-your-own-pace opportunity for local residents to get active for a portion of their afternoon. The event, hosted by the Community Collaborative on Sunday, July 8th at the LaGrange Community Park, encouraged community members to participate by walking, biking or wheelchair rolling with friends and family. Water bottles donated by Ross Builders were available for participants - you know what they say, hydration is key!
