As part of their On Track for Kindergarten program, OberlinKids offers annual screenings to any child between ages birth to 5-years-old that resides in the Oberlin City School District. The developmental, social and emotional, play-based screenings are now able to be completed online by the child's parent or guardian, or with the OberlinKids Coordinator at either the Oberlin Public Library or the OberlinKids office (23 Eric Nord Way, Suite 9 in Oberlin).
Over 200 local families celebrated Halloween in style at the first annual Rising Titans 'Trunk-Or-Treat' event on Saturday, October 27th at El Centro de Servicios Sociales in Lorain. Kids dressed in their holiday best were able to trick-or-treat and collect candy by stopping at automotive stations representing a handful of local organizations, including United Way of Greater Lorian County, Lorain County Public Health and the Lorain Public Library System.
United Way of Greater Lorain County partnered with the Lorain County Educational Service Center and H&R Block for another successful `Fill the Bus' drive. School supply drop off dates & locations were posted throughout the summer and the citizens of Lorain county really came out to help students.
OberlinKids participated in the city of Oberlin's old-fashioned community picnic on Friday, July 27, 2018. The event, held in Tappan Square, featured freshly grilled picnic favorites, free ice cream, a performance from the Dan Zola Orchestra, and Ohio Wheelman performing on antique bicycles.
Ready Set Go received a ton of help labeling, sorting, and organizing over 10,000 donated books as part of a two-part volunteer project on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28.
