Chance to Win a Virtual Hangout with Cleveland Browns Fullback Johnny Stanton by Donating to United Way of Greater Lorain County

Lorain, Ohio - United Way of Greater Lorain County announced today the launch of a virtual hangout fundraiser with Cleveland Browns fullback Johnny Stanton. The 14-day campaign to raise resources for local COVID-19 relief is part of a national campaign with National Football League (NFL) players that gives fans and followers the chance to win a 30-minute virtual hangout with an NFL player.

To support United Way of Greater Lorain County and enter the contest, fans can visit unitedway.org/hangout, select Johnny Stanton from the list of players, and make a donation. Donations start at $10 and the chances of winning the virtual hangout increase incrementally with larger donations.

Each player offers a list of activities from which winners can choose. Stanton’s activities include a question and answer session, virtual workout, video gaming session, or cooking class.

All of Stanton’s proceeds will support United Way of Greater Lorain County’s United Community Assistance Network (UCAN), a community collaborative that provides year-round emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and other basic needs. The UCAN Community Collaborative is playing a key role in helping hard-working families overcome financial crises resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sweepstakes, powered by Ascend, will run from May 18 to 31. The hangouts are scheduled to occur between June 1 and 14.

“United Way of Greater Lorain County is proud to offer unique and creative ways for our supporters to engage with NFL players while raising money to help families in our community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Ryan Aroney, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Lorain County. “As a life-long Browns fan, I think this is a really cool opportunity for a fan to engage one-on-one with a current NFL player and I’m excited to bring this contest to Lorain County.”

Stanton is a native of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. and played quarterback at UNLV. He converted to fullback after signing with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and joined the Browns as a free agent in January.
