A small group of leadership donors prepared over 1,500 Christmas books for distribution by UCAN partner, the Elyria Salvation Army on Thursday, December 13. The group was able to ready an entire gaylord of holiday books donated by the Greater Cleveland Book Bank, meaning each book was sanitized, checked for quality, sorted by category, and boxed.
Completed boxes of books were delivered to the Elyria Salvation Army the following morning to be included in their holiday-time assistance programs for local families in need.

Employees from University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center recently shaved their heads as a way to raise dollars - and awareness - for United Way of Greater Lorain County.
The event was started six years ago by UH Manager of Rehabilitation Services Tom LaMotte and has grown into an annual tradition that raises over $1,000 each year.
LaMotte was joined this year by Chief Operating Officer Jeff Reilly and Facilities Manager Chris Pebworth.
